Poll Workers Opportunities
Behind every election are thousands of people who ensure a smooth and proper operation at the polling places. Their efforts play a vital part in making democracy work. San Mateo County needs Poll Workers in order to continue providing the more than 350,000 registered voters the opportunity to vote at neighborhood precincts throughout the County.
The County of San Mateo is now accepting applications from energetic, qualified people to volunteer as Poll Workers at the precincts. Depending on your assignment, the stipend ranges from $115.00 to $140.00 for the day, plus $25.00 for the time you spend in training class, if you serve on Election Day. An additional bonus of $8 is offered to those who travel out of their city to serve in a precinct elsewhere and $7 to Inspectors who pick up their supplies. Among your duties will be voter sign-in and ballot distribution. Join the more than 1,600 Poll Workers we recruit and train for countywide elections.
This trusted position is ideal for anyone who would like to get a first-hand look at how our system works, and provide neighbors their opportunity to vote.
