(Redwood City, CA) San Mateo County Chief Elections Officer & Assessor-County Clerk-Recorder, Mark Church, announced the opening of the Candidate Filing period for the November 4, 2014 Statewide General Election.

“San Mateo County’s success depends upon responsible leaders committing themselves to public service,” said Church.  The 25 jurisdictions with contests to fill governing board positions on the November 4, 2014 ballot include 8 cities, 11 school districts, and 6 special districts.

“I encourage candidates who are interested in pursuing school or special district offices to call the Candidate Filing Officer, Jamie Kuryllo, at 650.312.5202 to make an appointment to review the steps in the process, the forms and the requirements for a successful filing,” Mark Church stated.  “Individuals running for municipal offices should contact their town or city clerk to make an appointment.”
